Almost Credible Music (ACM) is an experimental music group that presents immersive programmes involving sound, light, video and theatre. The group comprises some of the most talented musicians from Manchester, UK, whose varied individual projects give ACM a unique collective identity. Through integrating acoustic instruments with analogue devices, lo-fi electronics and other detritus, ACM traverses traditional stylistic boundaries to create unique live events, often in close collaboration with other artists.
Formally known as Another Contemporary Music Ensemble, ACM was formed in 2012 by Michael Cutting and Vitalija Glovackyte, and has performed across the UK and Europe, most notably with its 2015 nine-city tour FLECK in collaboration with sound artist Joe Snape. A review by Fluid Radio from the Birmingham event noted:
“The sheer exuberance and commitment of the piece and its performers is what brought the narrative to life. With Fleck, Flob, Flop, Snape and ACM have created an enchanting and multifaceted performance, the delight and surprise of which goes beyond mere novelty; one gets the impression of bigger things ahead.”
In its short history, ACM has performed in numerous prestigious festivals, including SPOR (Denmark, 2016), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (2013, 2014), OHNO in Cafe OTO and New Music North West (2013, 2015). Its performance in SPOR with Black Page Orchestra was chosen by the Danish journal Seismograf as the highlight of the week-long festival.
